With its decades of experience, Risatti can also carry out tests on lighting appliances. To be able to use the CE (Europe) mark on lighting appliances, the test must be carried out according to specific standards, which can be subdivided as follows:
- incandescent lighting
- LED lighting, simple or double insulation lighting.
There are normally 4 safety tests:
- AC ground (which is not carried out on double insulation appliances as they have no grounding conductor)
- Insulation resistance measurement
- Dielectric strength test (normally at 1,500 V for simple insulation appliances and 3,750 V for double insulation ones)
- Leakage current, at the rated voltage + 10%, where required.
Normally, after this, various functional tests are carried out, as the appliance is already connected to the workplace with the necessary accident-prevention protection.
The workplace, with accident-prevention protection, is performed according to the customer’s actual needs, production volume and the size of the item being tested.
