Machines for electric vehicle (EV) testing

The revolution of electric mobility has led to a new need in the design, manufacturing and service stages, i.e. the need to perform specific tests for electric cars (ev testing). These tests for the electric car sector may be included in a production line (low automation) or in a testing island (high automation) with robots or special handling systems. All the machines are handled by an industrial PC and, although they work individually, they can be connected within the same network and/or remotely controlled.

Risatti immediately took on board the specific nature of the electric vehicle (EV) sector and has therefore created a specific line in order to fulfil the standards, precisions and tests which are increasingly strict for testing electric cars. In fact, tests on alternators, squirrel cage and permanent magnet rotors, starting motors, standard safety tests and extra electric tests (FEM and THD) are available. Tests on complete motors are also available, even with gear motors and/or differentials.

As well as tests for electric cars, Risatti also offers complete tests for the electric scooter sector: stator tests and with a bonding machine, permanent magnet and squirrel cage rotors and complete or preassembled motor testing.

The tests

The equipment, exclusively designed and manufactured by us, embraces the entire electromechanical and electrotechnical sector and the sectors related to preventive maintenance, repairs and rewinding.
Residual voltage test is used to detect the presence of residual voltage in a system, after the main source of power is disconnected.
The AC dielectric strength test is performed by setting an acceptability threshold of the maximum current.
Testing the electrical resistance of a winding is essential and is performed to measure the resistance of a winding.
Partial discharges (PD) are electrical discharges localized in the dielectric insulation, limited only to a part of the dielectric material.
The SURGE test is the most reliable method to test the insulation of winding systems and can also be used to test partial discharges.
